Job Title: Relief Youth Care Worker

Cayuga Centers is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Relief Youth Care Worker to join our team. As a key member of our Youth and Family Resource Center, you will play a vital role in supporting the daily needs of youth in our respite program.

About the Role:

As a Relief Youth Care Worker, you will be responsible for providing a safe and nurturing environment for children and youth, promoting their developmentally appropriate skill development, and supporting their emotional and behavioral well-being. You will work collaboratively with our YFRC team to develop plans that meet the unique needs of each child, and provide interventions that support their goal achievement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement a variety of recreation and skill-building activities to engage children and youth
  • Provide primary support in helping children and youth develop preventative and responsive skills to cope with challenges
  • Collaborate with the YFRC team to develop plans that meet the needs of each child
  • Associate's Degree with experience in mental health or foster care work, preferred
  • High school diploma minimally required
  • Ability to form a mutually respectful and balanced relationship with children and youth
  • Ability to apply youth strengths to inform development of daily living skills
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to carry out interventions creatively to support client's goal achievement
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and collaboration skills
  • A strong belief in the ability of people to grow and change
  • Valid NYS Driver's License
