Job Summary

The Manual Machinist will be responsible for setting up and operating a variety of machine tools to produce precision parts and instruments. This role requires a strong understanding of mechanics, mathematics, and metal properties, as well as the ability to follow established procedures and maintain a safe working environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operating manual machines, including manual lathes and VTLs
  • Operating equipment and carrying out routine tasks
  • Carrying out operational tasks by following established processes
  • Maintaining and repairing equipment by preparing and providing assistance
  • Following basic mandatory work instructions to safeguard the environment and the wellbeing of oneself and others
  • Ensuring adherence to external regulatory codes and internal codes of conduct
  • Interpreting and using precision measuring equipment/instruments such as micrometers, dial indicators, and depth gauges
  • Reading and interpreting blueprints and geometric tolerances
  • Exchanging information with people by having courteous interactions with them
  • Working with guidance to understand policies and procedures, while making sure they match organizational strategies and objectives
Requirements
  • 2+ years of machining experience in a manufacturing or repair environment operating manual lathes, milling machines
  • HS Diploma / GED and 3-5 years relevant experience
Preferred Experience / Skills
  • Verbal communication skills to express ideas and request actions
  • Planning and organizing activities to efficiently meet business objectives
  • Applying elementary concepts to manage and apply safe systems of work
