Job Summary

The West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to serve as the Director of Accreditation and Continuous Quality Improvement. This key position will be responsible for ensuring the institution's compliance with regional and national accreditation agencies, as well as driving continuous quality improvement initiatives across the organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Accreditation Management
    • Monitor and interpret accreditation policies and procedures established by relevant agencies, including the American Osteopathic Association's Commission on Osteopathic College Accreditation (COCA) and the Higher Learning Commission (HLC) of the North Central Association.
    • Attend workshops and conferences related to accreditation, as necessary, and brief senior leadership on changes that may impact the institution.
    • Collaborate with administrators, faculty, and staff to complete accreditation reports, ensuring timely and high-quality submissions.
  • Continuous Quality Improvement
    • Develop and implement plans for continuous quality improvement, leveraging data and analysis to drive strategic changes and enhance institutional outcomes.
    • Provide leadership and oversight to the Institutional Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) Committee, ensuring effective implementation of quality improvement initiatives.
    • Facilitate the development and use of evaluation data to inform improvement plans and drive positive outcomes.
  • Operational Support
    • Provide management and analysis of academic data to support academic planning, program assessment, and internal and external reporting.
    • Consult with and assist other departments on institutional assessment, training, and quality improvement initiatives.
    • Support the development and implementation of innovative programs and methods to aid outcomes analysis and quality improvement.
  • Leadership and Collaboration
    • Work closely with senior leadership and other stakeholders to facilitate strategic changes and enhance institutional outcomes.
    • Provide leadership and oversight to the mapping and expression of institutional competencies and outcomes.
    • Manage assigned budget and resources to support accreditation and quality improvement initiatives.
Requirements
  • Master's degree with five years' experience in higher education accreditation, or a Doctorate with five years' experience in higher education accreditation.
  • Equivalent combination of relevant and recent experience and training may be considered.
  • COCA and/or HLC experience preferred.
  • Strong project management skills, excellent interpersonal skills, and ability to write, edit, and format professional documents.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a focus on detail and quality.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Adobe Acrobat, SharePoint, Outlook, and Excel.
