Job Summary:

International Marine and Industrial Applicators is seeking a skilled Laborer to join our team. As a Laborer, you will perform routine physical labor, moving materials, tools, and equipment, cleaning equipment, vehicles, machinery, and work areas, operating various types of tools, and assisting blasters by pulling hoses, mucking tanks, and removing grit.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform routine physical work under close supervision.
Follow oral and written instructions from supervisors or more experienced workers.
Move materials and/or tools and equipment manually or with a dolly, hand truck, cart, or forklift.
Muck tanks, pull hoses, and remove grit with vacuum hoses or by bucket.
Clean equipment, vehicles, machinery, and work areas using water and other cleaning agents, vacuums, hoses, brushes, cloths, or other cleaning equipment.
Operate a variety of equipment, including pneumatic tools, electric tools, and hand tools.

Requirements:

On-the-job training.
Ability to cooperate and work well with other employees and shipyard personnel.
Ability to take direction from supervisors or more experienced workers.

Working Conditions:

Repetitive, physical work.
Regularly exposed to dusty conditions, extreme temperatures, high noise levels, chemicals, fumes, airborne particles, and ambient weather conditions.
Often works on scaffolds and ladders for periods of time.
To avoid injury, safety clothing and safety devices are required to protect eyes, head, or hearing.
Shift work and overtime are involved most of the time.
Travel is often required.
