About the Role
This senior-level position is responsible for overseeing the collections process, ensuring effective debt recovery, and maintaining compliance with regulations and organizational guidelines. The ideal candidate will be a seasoned professional with extensive expertise in collections, bankruptcy, and debt management strategies.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee the collections lifecycle, from early-stage delinquencies to charge-offs and recoveries.
  • Handle bankruptcy-related cases with precision, including filing claims and monitoring proceedings.
  • Lead negotiations with members to resolve delinquencies while maintaining a positive and professional relationship.
  • Develop and refine strategies to improve recovery rates and streamline the collections process.
  • Work remotely while managing in-office tasks as needed, such as handling certified mail and court document filings.
  • Mentor junior collections staff as a subject matter expert.

Qualifications
  • 3-5 years of progressive collections experience in a credit union, bank, or similar financial institution.
  • Expertise in bankruptcy filings, collections laws, and debt recovery processes.
  • Proven track record of managing high-value and complex collections portfolios with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in collections software and financial systems (training provided for in-house tools).
  • Strong ability to work independently in a hybrid work environment.

Compensation
The estimated annual salary for this role is $90,000 - $120,000, depending on experience and qualifications.
