We are seeking an experienced Insurance Defense Litigation Attorney to join our team in handling complex commercial cases. As a key member of our legal department, you will be responsible for managing the entire legal process, from investigation and discovery through trial preparation and court proceedings.
Key Responsibilities- Manage complex civil litigation matters involving claims for monetary damages or compensation for personal injuries or property damage of mid to high level exposure.
- Develop appropriate legal strategies for all stages of litigation and share them with claims representatives and insured clients.
- Establish and maintain good relationships with claims reps and clients, and occasionally conduct training sessions for Legal, Claims or other departments.
- Draft legal documents, pleadings, motions, and opinions.
- A JD degree and membership in the Texas Bar.
- Appropriate special licenses to practice before boards or federal courts preferred.
- A minimum of eight years of successful complex commercial litigation experience as first chair.
- Experience in insurance defense strongly preferred.
We offer a competitive salary range of $180,000 - $250,000 per year, based on experience, education, and location. In addition, we provide eligible performance bonuses, 20 days of flexible time off each year, personal holidays, a pension plan, and a 401(k) plan with matching contributions.
