We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sr. Automotive Technician to join our team at Sun Auto Tire & Service. As a key member of our service department, you will be responsible for ensuring that repairs are performed correctly and efficiently by qualified technicians, while maintaining a consistently high level of customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities- Diagnose and repair complex vehicle issues using computerized equipment and technical expertise.
- Perform high-quality repairs and maintenance services, adhering to manufacturer and dealership standards.
- Communicate effectively with customers, explaining technical diagnoses and recommended repairs in a clear and concise manner.
- Recommend services to customers to maintain their vehicle's optimal condition, documenting all recommendations in their customer file.
- Follow all safety procedures and report any concerns to the Shop Foreman or Store Manager.
- Minimum of 5 years of automotive technician/mechanic experience.
- Ability to demonstrate proficiency in using computerized equipment for diagnostics.
- Valid/current driver's license.
- Current ASE certifications preferred.
- Ability to work a minimum of five days, including Saturdays.
The Sr. Automotive Technician will be exposed to moderate to loud noises, dust, exhaust fumes, lubricants, petroleum products, vapors, caustic materials, and other hazardous and non-hazardous materials. The temperature in the work environment varies and could include extreme heat and/or extreme cold depending on the ambient temperatures outside.
The Sr. Automotive Technician must be able to meet the following physical requirements:
- Stand five hours per day and able to walk to gain access to various areas of the building.
- Bend, stoop, kneel, and crouch regularly up to 10 hours per day; must have full range of motion with arms and hands and be able to feel, handle, or finger objects frequently.
- Lift and/or move up to 10 pounds regularly, lift and/or move up to 50 pounds frequently.
- Hear and speak.
- Vision sufficient to detect color, depth, and re-focus.
