Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Truck Driver to join our team at Performance Food Group. As a key member of our logistics team, you will be responsible for delivering and unloading food and food-related products to customers in a safe and efficient manner.

Key Responsibilities
  • Pre-Trip Safety Check: Conduct a thorough inspection of the truck and trailer to ensure they meet company quality standards and Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
  • Delivery and Unloading: Drive to and deliver customer orders according to a predetermined route, unload products from the trailer, and transport items into designated customer storage areas.
  • Customer Service: Communicate and interact with customers, vendors, and co-workers professionally to ensure all services and duties are executed in accordance with preferred work methods and customer service practices.
  • Documentation and Record-Keeping: Complete accurate and legible paperwork associated with freight, including count checks, customer invoices, and damage control checks.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Perform daily record of hours of service, secure tractor and trailer, and complete necessary paperwork.
Requirements
  • CDL License: Possess a valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a clean driving record.
  • Experience: 1-2 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in the food distribution industry.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to lift, push, and pull heavy objects, as well as stand for long periods of time.
