Today, we operate as a comprehensive agency and Federally Qualified Health Center, offering extensive healthcare services through our Community Clinics, Adult Day Health Care Center, and Patient Resources Department.

Position Overview:

As a key member of our clinical team, the Physician plays a crucial role in providing cost-effective healthcare services to low-income families and individuals, with a strong emphasis on delivering culturally and linguistically appropriate health and wellness services. The Physician is expected to provide timely, efficient, and high-quality medical care to all patients in a professional, compassionate, and ethical manner.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conducts comprehensive history and physical examinations for adult patients, including new patient evaluations and annual check-ups.
  • Performs necessary medical services such as Pap smears and breast examinations.
  • Provides counseling on birth control and prescribes medications as appropriate.
  • Collects detailed medical histories and performs thorough physical exams for each client.
  • Documents and treats various related medical conditions.
  • Prescribes medications as deemed necessary.
  • Reviews lab results, diagnostic imaging, and consultant reports, ensuring appropriate follow-up.
  • Delivers health education and maintains accurate documentation of all educational interactions.
  • Addresses miscellaneous medical inquiries in the absence of the Medical Director.
  • Engages in Provider, Practice Management, and Quality Control meetings.
  • Participates in chart reviews and quality assurance activities as outlined in the Quality Assurance policies.
  • Responsible for chart and lab reviews, as well as communication with consultants.
  • Provides clinical supervision when the Medical Director is unavailable.
  • Documents all unusual occurrences related to patient care and addresses patient complaints, reporting to the Medical Director and COO.
  • Responds to inquiries from pharmacies regarding prescriptions and refills, as well as medical advice requests from physicians and patients.
  • Collaborates with office staff to ensure timely arrangements for presenting patients whose scheduled providers are absent and assists in training support staff.
  • Maintains a full patient schedule following appointment guidelines: (i) 30 minutes for new patient physicals, (ii) 15 minutes for follow-up visits, and (iii) extended times for specific procedures as designated.
  • Participates in after-hours call support rotation.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Valid California Provider License; Board-Certified MD or DO.
  • First Aid / CPR Certification.
  • Knowledge of nursing processes, medical assessments, diagnoses, and appropriate treatments.
  • Ability to perform emergency resuscitation.
  • Understanding of sanitation practices and proper nutrition.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to foster effective working relationships with colleagues, agencies, and the public.
  • Bilingual in English/Hindi is required.
  • Commitment to the health of underserved and uninsured communities.
  • Experience in a community clinic setting is preferred but not mandatory.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $230,000 - $270,000 per year
