Respiratory Therapist RRT

Ascension Illinois is seeking a skilled Respiratory Therapist RRT to join our team at Ascension Saint Mary and Elizabeth Medical Center in Chicago, IL. As a Respiratory Therapist, you will be responsible for providing evaluation of and care for patients with respiratory insufficiencies. You will assess patient for appropriate type and frequency of treatment and develops a plan of care based on diagnosis. You will implement and monitor patient care plan and equipment, and monitor, record and communicate patient condition. You will also perform advanced respiratory care modalities, evaluate respiratory practice, administration of medications, and treatment based on patient outcome. Additionally, you will educate the patient and family about the health condition and provides information about community support groups and other available programs. You will respond to emergency resuscitation team code.
Responsibilities
- Provide evaluation of and care for patients with respiratory insufficiencies.

Requirements
- BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
- Respiratory Care Practitioner credentialed from the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation obtained within 4 Months (120 days) of hire date or job transfer date required.
- Advanced Life Support preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
- Certification specializing in Neonatal Resuscitation credentialed from the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) preferred.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
- Respiratory Therapist specializing in Critical Care credentialed from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) preferred.
- Respiratory Therapist specializing in Neonatal Resuscitation credentialed from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) preferred.
- Respiratory Therapist specializing in Registered credentialed from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) preferred. Adult Critical Care Specialist (ACCS) from National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) preferred.
Education
- High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
