The Weekend OR Circulating Nurse at Wellstar Health System is a key member of an interdisciplinary team of healthcare professionals who provide high-quality patient care. As a circulating nurse, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of the operating room, coordinating with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare team members to deliver exceptional patient care.
Responsibilities- Perform the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation, to provide individualized patient care.
- Provide relationship-based patient-centered care that adapts to the unique needs of each patient, including cultural diversity.
- Partner with patients and their families to set and achieve patient goals, using effective communication and education.
- Coordinate the delivery and documentation of safe, quality patient care, promoting a respectful and inclusive clinical environment.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure seamless communication and coordination of care.
- Participate in performance improvement initiatives, research, and evidence-based practice to promote safe, quality patient care.
- Develop and maintain expertise in surgical services, staying up-to-date with the latest evidence-based practices and technologies.
- Graduate of an accredited/approved school of nursing.
- Current RN licensure in the state of Georgia or eligible for multi-state compact.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Minimum 5 years of direct patient care experience in a surgical services setting.
- Strong interpersonal, collaborative, and customer service skills.
- Ability to function in a fast-paced environment and respond to emergencies with decisiveness, composure, and respect.
