Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our General Surgery team at Ascension Saint Thomas. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality patient care and work collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team to ensure the best possible outcomes for our patients.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct nursing care to patients undergoing general surgery procedures, including pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative care.
  • Implement and monitor patient care plans, ensuring that patients receive evidence-based care and meet their individual needs.
  • Coordinate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care, including physicians, therapists, and other nurses.
  • Assess and coordinate patient discharge planning needs, ensuring a smooth transition to home or other care settings.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing required.
  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of Tennessee or compact state required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in general surgery or medical-surgical nursing preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and responsibilities.
