Job Summary

This position is for a Correctional Treatment Specialist within the Bureau of Prisons. The successful candidate will work in a Federal Correctional Facility, providing group and individual counseling to inmates with psychological problems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide group and individual counseling to inmates with psychological problems.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans to address the needs of inmates.
  • Collaborate with other professionals to ensure the delivery of effective treatment services.
  • Conduct assessments and evaluations to identify the needs of inmates.
  • Develop and implement programs to address the needs of inmates.
Requirements
  • A degree in a behavioral or social science field, such as psychology, sociology, or social work.
  • At least 24 semester hours of course work in the behavioral or social sciences.
  • Experience working in a correctional setting, preferably in a treatment or counseling role.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Working Conditions

This position is located in a Federal Correctional Facility and requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will be required to work with inmates who may have mental health issues, substance abuse problems, or other behavioral challenges.
