We are seeking a skilled Production Machinist to join our team at Precision Castparts Corp. As a Production Machinist, you will be responsible for operating a variety of conventional machining tools and equipment, including Electrical Discharge Machines (E.D.M.) and Computerized Numeric Controlled Machines (CNC).
Key Responsibilities- Machining: Machine castings, including gate removal, without mutilation and within customer specification, according to print.
- Measure and Inspect: Measure and dimensionally inspect castings using a variety of measuring devices and fixtures.
- Calibrate and Adjust: Calibrate and adjust fixtures to ensure accurate machining.
- Quality Control: Visually and dimensionally inspect machined parts to assure quality of castings and compliance with PCC and customer specifications.
- Safety: Take responsibility for and demonstrate safe work practices, adhering to plant and department safety rules.
- Education: Completion of machine technology program or apprenticeship and precision machining experience or an equivalent combination of training and precision machining experience.
- Skills: Ability to read, interpret and follow specifications on Technique Cards and technical manuals, thorough knowledge of CNC machine functions, tooling and setup procedures.
- Physical Abilities: Physical ability to perform the essential job functions, including lifting and moving heavy equipment.
This position requires working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, with exposure to noise, dust, and other hazards. The successful candidate must be able to work independently and meet timeline schedules.
