Job Summary
The Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) will play a crucial role in our Interdisciplinary Team, working closely with clinical and non-clinical members to provide exceptional care planning and condition updates. This position requires a skilled and empathetic professional who can deliver restorative and rehabilitative occupational therapy services to maximize participant independence, safety, and functional performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer treatment programs as established by the occupational therapist, ensuring timely and effective delivery of care.
- Assist in obtaining vital signs, range of motion, and strength testing to inform treatment plans.
- Coordinate with rehabilitation team members to implement activities and programs aligned with individual treatment plans.
- Manage scheduling of participants' treatment, clinical visits, and billing processes.
- Maintain equipment records and perform routine maintenance tasks to ensure optimal functionality.
- Document occupational therapy interventions in accordance with established care plans, utilizing devices, techniques, and activities to promote muscle re-education, perceptual-motor, and cognitive function.
Requirements
- An Associate degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant from an accredited program.
- A valid California Occupational Therapy Assistant License or proof of eligibility.
- Reliable transportation for visiting patients at their residences.
- A minimum of two years of experience as an Occupational Therapy Assistant in a clinical setting, with a focus on frail or elderly populations.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Occupational Therapy principles and practices, particularly in treating complex needs among vulnerable seniors.
