Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Physician Assistant to join our Neurosurgery Inpatient team at Ascension. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide direct diagnostic, therapeutic, and preventive health care services to patients under the supervision of a physician.

Key Responsibilities
  • Obtain patient history and perform assessments to inform treatment plans.
  • Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic procedures to diagnose and manage patient conditions.
  • Provide direct treatment and management of health conditions, including counseling and education of patients and their families/caregivers.
  • Perform preventative health assessments, screenings, immunizations, and care to promote patient well-being.
Requirements
  • BLS Provider certification required within 1 month of hire date.
  • Physician Assistant certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) required.
  • Physician Assistant with Prescriptive Authority certification from the Michigan Board Physician Assistants Task Force required.
  • Advanced Life Support certification preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program.
  • Master's degree preferred.
  • 1 year of experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
