Job Summary
The Certified Nurse Midwife is responsible for providing comprehensive women's health care services, including prenatal, postpartum, and routine gynecological care. This role also involves providing health education programs for patients and the community, focusing on topics such as pregnancy, labor, birth, breastfeeding, and infant care.
Requirements
- Graduate from a CCNE or NLN accredited nursing program is preferred. A graduate from an approved nursing program is acceptable.
- Graduate from an accredited Nurse Midwifery program is required.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience as a full-time practicing Certified Nurse Midwife in an OB/GYN clinic setting is preferred.
Certifications and Licenses
- Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Minnesota is required.
- Certification as an APRN through the Minnesota Board of Nursing with designation specific to the board of practice is required.
- Federal and/or State DEA certification is required according to State guidelines.
- National certification by the American Midwifery Certification Board is required.
