Key Responsibilities

Primary Duties

  • Deliver age-appropriate nursing care to patients and their families, utilizing nursing interventions to help achieve optimal health outcomes.
  • Function as the primary scrub technician during surgical operations.
  • Assist with technical tasks during assigned surgical procedures.
  • Ensure that all necessary instruments and supplies are available and in proper working order.
  • Prepare and label medications with accurate dosages for use in the sterile field.
  • Support the surgical team by adhering to patient care handoff protocols.
  • Engage actively in quality improvement initiatives.
  • Commit to ongoing learning and professional development.

General Requirements

  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
  • Adhere to all organizational policies and standards.
  • Refer to departmental documentation for specific responsibilities during orientation.
  • Maintain the confidentiality and security of Protected Health Information (PHI) in compliance with organizational policies and training.
Qualifications

Essential Qualifications

Sign-on Bonus: $3,000 for candidates with over 1 year of external Surgical Technologist experience

Educational Background

  • Completion of an accredited Surgical Technologist program.

Skills and Competencies

  • Comprehensive understanding of aseptic techniques, surgical instruments, suturing, and procedures is essential.
  • Ability to operate a diverse range of technical equipment to meet patient care needs and follow prescribed medical therapies.

Licenses and Certifications

  • Certification is preferred but not mandatory.

Physical Requirements

  • Frequent standing, walking, lifting, and carrying of up to 50 lbs.
  • Occasional climbing, balancing, and crawling.
  • Constant engagement in talking, hearing, and repetitive motions.
  • Consistent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity are required.
