Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Nursing Assistant to join our team at Prisma Health. As a key member of our hospice care team, you will provide personalized care and comfort services to patients and their families, ensuring a high level of quality and compassion in every interaction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Personal Care and Comfort
    • Assist patients with bathing, dressing, and grooming, promoting their dignity and comfort
    • Provide mouth care, nail care, and foot care, as needed
    • Assist with ambulation, transfer, and use of assistive devices
    • Turn and position patients to prevent pressure ulcers and promote comfort
    • Assist patients with elimination, including the use of bedpans, urinals, and diapers
    • Facilitate nutrition and hydration, preparing meals and offering fluids as needed
  • Monitoring Patient Condition
    • Assist the nurse in monitoring patient vital signs, including temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure, and weight
    • Report any changes in patient condition, including skin color, skin tears, and difficulties with elimination
    • Monitor patient compliance with safety measures and report any concerns
  • Homemaker Tasks
    • Perform basic housekeeping duties, including changing linen, washing dishes, and cleaning kitchen counters
    • Organize food and supplies, and deliver medical supplies as requested
    • Remove unnecessary clutter from patient environments to reduce the risk of falls
  • Agency Needs
    • Participate in review of quality improvement data and make recommendations for improvement
    • Manage agency resources, including time, mileage, and visit schedules
    • Monitor utilization of medical supplies and maintain adequate stock

Requirements

  • Current certification as a Nursing Assistant (CNA) in the state of South Carolina
  • Basic computer skills, including word processing and data entry
  • Mathematical skills and ability to perform calculations
  • Proof of auto liability coverage
  • Ability to travel and have reliable personal transportation

Work Environment

This is a variable shift position, requiring flexibility and adaptability to meet the needs of our patients and families.
