Job Overview

Southeast Texas HR is seeking a seasoned Culinary Operations Director to lead the daily operations of our hospital and healthcare facilities.

About the Role

This position oversees the preparation of food items for patients, retail, cafeteria, and Hospital catered events. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing staff schedules, training, and performance evaluations.

Responsibilities
  • Staff Management: Direct daily activities through effective scheduling, training, and performance management.
  • Food Safety and Sanitation: Ensure compliance with federal, state, and hospital regulations for food handling and sanitation.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Conduct regular safety audits and maintain records for department equipment.
  • Quality Control: Monitor food service throughout the day to minimize waste and ensure quality standards are met.
  • Catering Orders: Verify that catering orders are prepared correctly and delivered on time.
  • Communication: Communicate effectively with staff regarding procedures, training, and performance expectations.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience: At least 2-3 years of experience in kitchen management.
  • Certifications: Food Handlers Certification and knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
  • Work Schedule: Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
  • Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
  • Background Check: Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
  • Immunization Records: Ability to obtain immunization records.
Estimated Salary Range

$60,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience.
