PLC Controls Engineer II Job Description

We are seeking an experienced PLC Controls Engineer II to take ownership of control system design, instrumentation configuration, and project implementation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with project managers and estimators for project proposals
  • Design control system architecture and communication strategies
  • Program PLCs using Ladder, Function Block, and Structured Text
  • Develop HMI and interface programs
  • Create test plans and provide technical leadership on small projects
  • Troubleshoot hardware/software issues and ensure smooth system functionality
  • Train customers and internal teams on control system operation
  • Mentor less experienced engineers
Requirements:
  • 4+ years of Industrial Controls experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent industrial controls experience
  • Expertise in PLC Programming (Ladder Logic, Function Block, Structured Text)
  • Experience with Allen Bradley equipment and networking (Ethernet/IP)
  • HMI experience
Preferred:
  • 6+ years in the architectural, engineering, or construction (AEC) field
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD (Autodesk Software)

Location: Fayetteville, GA

Compensation: ~ +/- $80,000–$110,000/year (Negotiable, DOE)

Work Hours: M-F, 8-5
