Job Title: HR Employee Benefits Coordinator

Job Summary:

The HR Employee Benefits Coordinator is responsible for administering and managing employee benefits programs, ensuring compliance with federal and tribal regulations. This role involves coordinating with benefit vendors, maintaining accurate records, and providing excellent customer service to employees.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Enroll employees in various benefit options, including health, dental, and vision insurance plans.
  • Coordinate new-hire and open enrollment sessions, as well as special workshops to educate staff on benefit plans and programs.
  • Design and prepare benefit materials and literature, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulations.
  • Respond to benefit inquiries from managers and employees, providing timely and accurate information.
  • Verify and record employee information, ensuring accurate data feeds between the HRIS/payroll system and carriers.
  • Reconcile insurance and benefit invoices, monitoring account transactions for accuracy.
  • Ensure compliance with COBRA, FMLA, ACA, and Worker Compensation reporting requirements.
  • Process and administer leave-of-absence requests, FMLA, and Worker Compensation benefits.
  • Assess workstation ergonomics and make recommendations to minimize risk of injury.
  • Complete employee benefit separation packets and offboarding processes for each employee separation.
  • Coordinate employee recognition programs and compile statistics and reports on benefit utilization.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • One year of experience in human resources, employee benefits administration, or a related field.
  • Experience with billing reconciliations and HRIS/payroll systems.
  • Strong understanding of American Indian/Alaska Native (AI/AN) Tribal culture and lifestyle.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and comply with all applicable federal and tribal privacy laws.

Working Conditions:

The HR Employee Benefits Coordinator will work in a fast-paced environment, requiring strong organizational and time management skills. The physical demands of this role include sitting, standing, and using a computer for extended periods.
