Position Summary:
We are seeking a Finance Analyst to join our team.

The Finance Analyst will play a crucial role within the Akima Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) team, focusing on project analysis, reporting, forecasting, and process enhancement.

This role requires a proactive individual who collaborates with Project Control, FP&A, Finance, Corporate Development leadership, and the Chief Growth Officer to anticipate future reporting needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Establish, maintain, and analyze Bid and Proposal (B&P) projects across the organization.
  • Act as the primary Point of Contact (POC) for all aspects of Financial Reporting related to Business Development, Marketing, and Communications Costs.
  • Coordinate with subsidiary Presidents, Operations Managers, and Business Development leads for monthly reviews and communication of project-level financial data.
  • Assist with annual budgeting and forecasting in collaboration with group finance representatives and Project Control.
  • Support the FP&A team with indirect spend reporting across all Shared Services functions.
  • Meet time-sensitive deadlines and follow up on action items effectively.
  • Facilitate productive meetings and design impactful PowerPoint presentations.
  • Set up indirect projects for B&P Opportunity tracking.
  • Manage expectations for Group, Business Development, and Corporate Development leadership.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • Over five years of experience in Project Controls, Finance, or FP&A within a Federal Government Contractor environment.
  • Strong understanding of various government contract types and associated terms and conditions.
  • Familiarity with FAR/DCAA/CAS compliance requirements.
  • Knowledge of the B&P process and experience with project spend analysis.
  • Proficiency in Costpoint and Cognos, including project workforce updates and GL data validation.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to work independently.
  • Prior experience with Deltek Costpoint and IBM Cognos Analytics.
  • Ability to conduct cost and schedule variance analysis.
  • Proficient in PowerPoint and Excel.
Desired Qualifications:
  • Master's degree or MBA is advantageous.
  • Experience with PowerBI is a plus.
