What You\u0027ll Do in This Role
\t- Provide consistent professional music therapy in accordance with company protocols and accepted certification practices
\t - Effectively inform and educate our patients, staff, and facility partners about music therapy
\t - Establish therapy objectives as part of the patient assessment
\t - Plan, review, and assess therapy sessions to monitor effectiveness and to aid in the planning of subsequent sessions
\t - Take an active role in sessions by playing instruments, singing, and listening
\t - Encourage patients to take part in the session and support them by responding musically and improvising with music as a reaction to what the client is communicating to give comfort during the last stages of life
\t - Support the patient\u0027s creative development and facilitate positive changes in their behavior and well-being
\
Requirements
\t- Bachelor of Music Therapy degree
\t - Current Board certified (MT-BC) credential according to U.S. Certification Board for Music Therapists
\t - State music therapy licensing where required
\t - At least six (6) months of work/education experience with geriatric health care
\t - At least six (6) months of work/education experience with end-of-life/terminal illness health care
