Responsibilities

The selected candidate will:

  • Assess and manage patients using advanced medical diagnostic and treatment techniques.
  • Contribute to initiatives aimed at enhancing cost-effectiveness and quality of patient care.
  • Accept referrals from other healthcare providers and serve as the attending physician for hospitalized patients as needed.
  • Engage in academic activities, including medical education and research.
  • Ensure thorough documentation that complies with insurance requirements and manage appeals for denied claims.
  • Participate in both inpatient and outpatient consultations, which may include on-call duties.

Requirements

Licensure and Certification:

  • Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) required prior to employment.
  • Nurse Practitioner licensure from the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation required prior to employment.
  • Preferred: Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) credential.

Education:

  • Master's degree in Nursing is mandatory.
