Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Pastry Cook I to join our culinary team at The Ritz-Carlton Rancho Mirage. As a Pastry Cook I, you will be responsible for preparing breads and pastries, including preparing doughs and fillings, proofing, baking, and decorating as appropriate.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and cook food according to recipes, quality and presentation standards, and food prep checklists.
  • Maintain kitchen logs for food safety program compliance.
  • Keep Chef informed of excess food items for planning of daily specials.
  • Safely and appropriately use baking and measuring tools/equipment/appliances to prepare baked foods.
  • Follow and ensure compliance with food safety handling policies and procedures, including personal hygiene procedures.
  • Check and ensure correct temperatures of kitchen appliances and food, and report issues to management.
  • Monitor the quality of food prepared and portions served throughout shift.
Requirements
  • At least 2 years of related work experience.
  • Technical, Trade, or Vocational School Degree.
  • No supervisory experience.
  • License or Certification: None
Benefits

The starting pay for this position is $24.50 per hour, and the 6 month pay for this position is $25.00 per hour. The position offers health care benefits, earned paid time off and/or sick leave, life insurance, disability coverage, and other life and work wellness benefits.
