Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate CNC Power Brake Press: Safely and efficiently operate the CNC power brake press to produce high-quality metal products.
  • Collaborate with Press Programmer: Work closely with the press programmer to improve setups and processing of materials, ensuring optimal production efficiency.
  • Set Up and Adjust Machine: Set stops on the machine bed, change dies, and adjust components, such as the ram or power press, to produce multiple or successive passes.
  • Plan and Execute Operations: Plan the sequence of operations, applying knowledge of the physical properties of metal, to produce high-quality products.
  • Inspect and Measure Workpieces: Inspect workpieces for defects and measure them using micrometers, gauges, straight edges, scales, and protractors.
  • Select and Position Dies: Select and position flat, block, radius, or special-purpose die sets into the ram and bed of the machine, using hoists, cranes, measuring instruments, and hand tools.
  • Meet Daily Workload Requirements: Complete daily workload requirements and maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Maintain Machinery: Perform routine maintenance on the machinery and ensure it is in good working condition.
Required Skills and Abilities:
  • Complex Instruction Understanding: Understand complex instructions and schematics to ensure accurate production.
  • Mechanical Blueprint Reading: Ability to read and understand mechanical blueprints.
  • Measurement Tool Proficiency: Proficiency in using measurement tools, including protractors, calipers, and tape measures.
  • Machine Optimization: Understand when the machine is not at peak performance and know how to increase output and fix errors.
  • Attention to Detail: Possess a strong attention to detail, as press brakes are precision equipment and small errors can be critical.
  • Mechanical and Technical Skills: Strong mechanical and technical skills, with the ability to understand and operate complex machinery.
Education and Experience:
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent: High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Press Brake Operation Experience: 2 years of press brake operation experience required.
Physical Requirements:
  • Lifting Ability: Ability to safely lift 50 pounds.
  • Crane Operation: Ability to use overhead cranes and jib cranes.
  • Standing and Repetitive Movements: Most work performed standing at floor level, with the ability to perform repetitive movements with hands.
