Job Summary

As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) on our High Intensity Care Unit (HICU), you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care to those who require attention for acute brain injuries, respiratory assistance, or special monitoring. Our team takes a collaborative approach to ensure that each patient receives personalized care and attention.

About the Unit

The HICU is a 20-bed unit that can accommodate up to 40 patients. Our team members are outgoing and positive, utilizing strong organizational and leadership skills to assess patient status, implement clinical nursing interventions, and develop patient care plans to enhance outcomes.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care, including administering medications, performing vital signs, and documenting patient information
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized patient care plans
  • Assume leadership roles as needed to ensure the smooth operation of the unit
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and satisfaction
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A current LPN license in the state of Maryland
  • AHA BLS CPR certification
  • Basic computer skills, including proficiency in electronic medical records
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks accordingly
