Transportation Rider

Job Summary:

Serve as a vital member of the Wharton Independent School District team, providing safe and orderly transportation of students and other authorized persons on assigned routes and to and from designated locations. This role requires a clear and valid Texas commercial driver's license with Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) endorsements, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide safe and efficient transportation services to students and other authorized persons
• Maintain a clean and organized bus environment
• Develop and maintain positive relationships with students, parents, and staff
• Communicate effectively with others to ensure smooth transportation operations
• Manage student behavior and maintain a safe and respectful environment on the bus

Requirements:

• Must be 18 years of age
• Clear and valid Texas commercial driver's license with Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) endorsements
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
• Ability to manage student behavior
• Ability to communicate effectively with others

Working Conditions:

This role requires working in a fast-paced environment with frequent interactions with students, parents, and staff. The ability to work independently and as part of a team is essential. Regular attendance and punctuality are required.
