Perioperative Nurse Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Perioperative Nurse Specialist to join our team. This role is ideal for an experienced nurse looking to take their career to the next level.
About the RoleThe Perioperative Nurse Specialist will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care in the operating room environment. This includes planning, coordinating, and delivering nursing care to patients undergoing surgical or invasive procedures.
As a key member of our healthcare team, you will work closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other medical professionals to ensure optimal care and patient outcomes.
Responsibilities- Patient Care & Evaluation:
- Provide direct and indirect nursing care to patients in the operating room environment.
- Evaluate and document patient care during the perioperative period using the nursing process.
- Individualize care based on patient health status, age, and procedure or surgery being performed.
- Address physical, psychological, and spiritual needs of patients before, during, and after surgical procedures.
- Ensure patient safety, comfort, and dignity throughout the perioperative experience.
- Coordination & Collaboration:
- Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure optimal care and patient outcomes.
- Coordinate patient care needs before, during, and after procedures, ensuring effective communication and documentation.
- Maintain sterile technique and manage the operating room environment to minimize infection risk.
- Documentation & Reporting:
- Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of patient care and surgical activities.
- Regularly assess and document patient responses to procedures, including vital signs, medications, and interventions.
- Experience:
- Minimum 1 year of experience in an acute operating room environment.
- Knowledge of professional nursing theory, practices, techniques, and procedures.
- Strong understanding of AORN (Association of periOperative Registered Nurses) Standards.
- Experience in organizing, planning, coordinating, and evaluating nursing services within the perioperative environment.
- Ability to maintain effective working relationships with a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team providing specialized patient care.
- Basic computer skills for documentation and communication.
- Education & Certifications:
- Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited nursing program.
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) License issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing, or a current multistate compact RN License (eNLC).
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
As a Perioperative Nurse Specialist at Compunnel, you can expect a competitive salary of $85,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on your experience and qualifications.
