The Facilities Technician is responsible for executing routine, corrective, and maintenance tasks across all properties managed by Treasure Coast Hospice, including thrift store locations.
Essential Qualifications
Applicants should possess a minimum of one (1) year of experience and demonstrate a foundational understanding of various maintenance skills, including painting, carpentry, electrical systems, HVAC, and plumbing. Basic HVAC maintenance and electrical troubleshooting skills are required. Candidates must be able to foster positive, constructive relationships with both internal and external stakeholders. A valid Florida driver's license and proof of automobile insurance are mandatory. Regular attendance is a key condition of employment.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute scheduled preventative and routine maintenance tasks on all properties, ensuring compliance with safety regulations as verified by inspections.
- Complete service requests for repairs and replacements in a timely manner, as tracked by facility work order data.
- Efficiently manage the movement and setup of office furniture, aiming for high employee satisfaction.
- Adhere to safety protocols, as indicated by employee incident reports.
- Maintain a strong sense of urgency, customer awareness, and service excellence.
- Actively support the compliance program of Treasure Coast Hospice, emphasizing adherence to all relevant Federal, State, and Local laws.
- Contribute to the successful execution of the organization's strategic plan as assigned.
OSHA Classification
This position is classified as category II, indicating no routine exposure to blood or body fluids, although unplanned category I tasks may occasionally arise.
Working Environment
- Medium physical demands, including the ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and up to 30 pounds frequently.
- Climbing and navigating ladders, stairs, and other structures is required.
- Frequent bending, kneeling, crouching, and crawling may be necessary.
- Regular reaching, standing, and walking to accomplish tasks, including moving between work sites.
- Physical tasks may include pushing, pulling, and lifting objects as needed.
- Exposure to various environmental conditions is expected.
- Work may be conducted in outdoor settings.
Additional Notes
The incumbent may be called upon to perform emergency duties outside of regular hours in response to crises or disasters. The work environment is smoke-free, and adherence to all smoking restrictions is expected.
