General Manager Job Description

Job Summary:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the hotel operations team to achieve financial performance, high-quality product and service levels, and compliance with state, federal, and local regulations.
  • Establish priorities and lead key operational initiatives, including sales plan and budget development, and execution of physical property improvement projects.
  • Provide hands-on leadership to ensure revenue maximization while controlling expenses.
  • Serve as the linchpin for communications with guests, clients, associates, ownership, corporate representatives, brand representatives, and key vendors.
  • Conduct daily ABR meetings, tour operating departments, and hold weekly staff meetings, including training sessions.
  • Meet all financial review dates and corporate-directed programs in a timely fashion.
  • Develop managers for future advancement through competency training and corporate-sponsored training programs.
  • Participate in required M.O.D. coverage, maintain direct contact with management trainees, and adhere to all Aimbridge Hospitality policies and procedures.

Requirements:

  • At least 6 years of progressive experience in a hotel or related field, or a 4-year college degree and at least 4-5 years of related experience, or a 2-year college degree and at least 5-6 years of related experience.
  • Proficient in Windows operating systems, Company-approved spreadsheets, and word processing.
  • Valid driver's license for the applicable state.
  • Ability to convey information and ideas clearly, evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately, and work well in stressful high-pressure situations.
