Software Image Quality Engineer

Work closely with engineers and designers to ensure seamless integration of image quality features.

Develop and maintain test cases to ensure high-quality image processing.

Collaborate with the QA team to identify and resolve image quality issues.

Stay curious and dedicated to self-education in video technologies and new testing techniques.

Streamline processes for data collection and systematically parse large data sets.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of proven experience as a professional photographer in a competitive industry
  • Experience with digital photography, video, and a deep understanding of photography: Exposure settings, WB, depth-of-field, bokeh, sharpening, denoising, HDR, etc.
  • Understanding of subjective/objective image quality evaluation, and color science concepts
  • Demonstrated ability to develop a testing methodology to gather input on subjective image/video quality changes
  • Previous experience designing and conducting experiments, iterating through various parameters to optimize image/video quality
  • Competency in applying photographic best practices and techniques
  • Proficient with Image editing software
  • Bachelor's Degree or an equivalent of 2 plus years relevant experience

  • Proficient at balancing multiple efforts simultaneously and meeting strict deadlines
  • Can extract user scenarios from software feature descriptions and requirements to translate them into effective test plans and cases
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written)
  • Ability to abstract technical details and effectively communicate to audiences at different levels
  • iOS and macOS familiarity
  • Understanding of UX principals
  • QA Engineer experience is highly desired
  • Have some understanding of computational photography and machine learning

Pay & Benefits:

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role.

The base pay range for this role is between $112,900 and $234,700, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs.

Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple's Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
