Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Speech Language Pathologist to join our team at Lawton Public Schools. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing speech and language services to students with deficits in articulation, language fluency, and voice.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the identification and initial referral of Speech Language Impaired children
  • Perform Speech Language assessments and prepare comprehensive reports
  • Participate in comprehensive staffing and coordinate information flow from the department to other service providers
  • Consult and instruct school personnel and parents in the therapeutic management of students
  • Write and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
  • Maintain confidential records and provide documentation of progress
  • Provide formal and informal in-service training to administrators, parents, and teachers
  • Travel to various sites to provide services and attend necessary workshops and continuing education to maintain certification and licensure
Requirements
  • Master's Degree in Speech/Language Pathology
  • Specialized knowledge, licenses, and certifications as required by the state and district
Working Conditions

The Speech Language Pathologist will work in a variety of settings, including schools and district offices. The position requires frequent travel to various sites and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
