About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Clinical Pharmacist for a travel assignment in Austin, Texas. This position requires a registered pharmacist with a valid, unrestricted license to conduct clinical activities.
Job Description:
The successful candidate will be responsible for promoting pharmaceutical care by managing the medication process, identifying and preventing potential drug-related problems, and resolving actual drug-related problems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage medication orders accurately and efficiently
- Ensure the appropriateness of all medication doses in reference to patient diagnosis, weight/body surface area, allergies, and drug interactions
- Follow aseptic technique and infection control in the preparation of sterile products
- Accurately enter medication orders in the computer system
- Maintain accurate records and documents
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or Ph.D in Pharmacy
- RPH certification from the state of Texas
- At least 2 years of hospital staff pharmacist experience (pediatric experience preferred)
- 40 hours of training in compounding sterile products accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education or the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists
