As an Acute Care Physician Assistant specializing in Urology, you will be an integral part of the UTHealth Houston Department of Surgery. This role involves providing advanced medical care to patients with complex acute, critical, and chronic health conditions within a specialized area.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and perform physical examinations.
- Manage and monitor treatment plans, ensuring effective communication with attending physicians regarding patient progress.
- Assist in various Urology procedures, including catheter placements, cystoscopies, and pelvic/prostate examinations.
- Facilitate patient education on medical processes, medication management, nutrition, and preventive health strategies.
- Coordinate and implement individualized patient care plans under the supervision of a physician.
Qualifications:
A Bachelor's degree as a Physician Assistant with a minimum of two years of relevant professional experience is required. Candidates with military backgrounds in related occupations may also be considered.
