Position Overview

The Registered Nurse plays a crucial role within a collaborative multidisciplinary team, delivering care services in accordance with the Discovery Behavioral Health Clinical Model.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducts comprehensive medical screening assessments for potential new admissions, ensuring medical suitability for facility admission and consulting with the physician as necessary.
  • Performs initial nursing assessments and oversees the complete medical admission process for each client upon their arrival.
  • Ensures the execution of all physician and psychiatrist orders, while effectively communicating client information and wellbeing during treatment team meetings.
  • Develops and implements individualized Nursing Care Plans.
  • Manages daily narcotic counts and maintains accurate logs.
  • Conducts blood draws as required.
  • Responsible for the timely ordering and availability of necessary medications for clients within the facility.
  • Oversees supply management and maintains a fully stocked nursing station.
  • Implements weekly chart audits to verify that all medications have corresponding consent forms and that all orders are documented correctly for each client, ensuring all lab results are included in the client's chart.
  • Accurately documents client progress on a daily basis in an objective manner.
  • Evaluates client suicidality and assesses potential risks to self or others.

Available Shifts:

  • 3-11 PM (Full-Time, weekend availability required)
  • 3-11 PM (Part-Time, must be available on weekends)

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred
  • Associate Degree in Nursing accepted
  • Current RN license in good standing required
  • Preferred one year of experience in mental health, counseling, or the eating disorders field.
  • Must possess a valid Driver's License in good standing.
