LSF is seeking a dedicated Residential Youth Caregiver who is passionate about making a difference in the lives of young individuals.
This role involves working directly with teenage females who are pregnant, parenting, or at risk of exploitation, ensuring they receive the support and guidance they need.
Key Responsibilities:
- Foster a nurturing environment for youth.
- Maintain safety and cleanliness of the facility.
- Assist young mothers and their children with daily living skills, including personal hygiene and household tasks.
- Monitor and engage in play activities to promote healthy interactions.
- Document daily activities and incidents through shift reports.
- Perform administrative duties such as attendance tracking and report completion.
- Manage household tasks, including meal preparation and medication administration.
- Organize recreational activities and outings to enhance social engagement.
- Support educational endeavors by assisting with homework when necessary.
- Participate in training sessions and staff meetings as required.
- Supervise and assign daily chores to residents.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Minimum of one year of experience working with youth in a structured environment preferred.
- Training in trauma-informed care and child welfare is advantageous.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build effective relationships with clients and colleagues.
- Dependability, discretion, and sound judgment are essential.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
