Physical Therapist Assistant

As a Physical Therapist Assistant at Lexington Medical Center, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and supporting the physical therapy team. Your primary responsibility will be to assist the physical therapist in administering physical therapy services to patients, helping them recover from trauma or disease and regain their functional abilities.
Key Responsibilities- Work under the supervision of a physical therapist to administer direct physical therapy patient care, following a treatment plan and using specific competencies.
- Monitor ongoing progress by administering physical therapy tests and measurements, such as muscle testing, functional ability, and range of motion.
- Document patient treatment data, including progress notes and discharge summaries, in accordance with CMS and state practice act guidelines.
- Represent the department and communicate with the interdisciplinary team for discharge planning and coordination of medical services.
- Participate in professional development activities to enhance technical knowledge and skills.
- Graduate of a physical therapist assistant program approved by the State Board of Physical Therapy Examiners.
- Licensed physical therapist assistant in the State of South Carolina by the State Board of Physical Therapy Examiners.
- CPR Certification.
