Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and safety-conscious Pumper Truck Driver to join our team at GFL Environmental. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently collecting and transporting waste to disposal facilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate a pumper truck and ancillary equipment to collect and transport waste to disposal facilities.
  • Load and unload equipment on trucks and trailers.
  • Unload collected waste at disposal locations.
  • Complete pre-trip and post-trip safety inspections and reports.
  • Communicate vehicle mechanical problems to mechanic and supervisor immediately.
  • Maintain route quality standards and follow all safety protocols.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) desired.
  • Possess a valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
  • One (1) year of satisfactory commercial driving experience or CDL school certificate preferred.
  • Ability to meet relevant criteria for safety-sensitive functions according to Company standards.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Knowledge of truck and equipment operation and maintenance.
  • Ability to control operations of equipment and maneuver truck in tight spaces.
  • Ability to recognize unacceptable waste and communicate effectively with internal and external customers.
  • Ability to read, write, and comprehend associated documents and maps.
  • Flexibility to adapt to change and commitment to continuous improvement.
Working Conditions:
  • Frequently exposed to loud noise, humidity, and extreme weather conditions.
  • Work in outdoor environment up to 100% of the time.
  • Occasionally work in high precarious places.
