Job Title: Medical Assistant

Clearway Pain Solutions is seeking a highly skilled Medical Assistant to join our team. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing direct patient care and supporting our healthcare team.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct patient care, including taking vital signs, recording medical history, and collecting patient information.
  • Enter patient intake and provider orders into the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system.
  • Request medical records and utilize the Pharmacy Database Monitoring Program as directed by providers.
  • Facilitate patient flow and maintain a positive atmosphere of customer service, teamwork, and professionalism.
  • Verify patient information, take and record patient vitals, and properly maintain examination rooms and clinical areas.
  • Answer telephones in a professional manner and deliver messages promptly.
  • Return patient calls in a timely manner and maintain and improve current skills and knowledge by attending relevant meetings, classes, and trainings.
  • Adhere to Infection Control, Safety, and OSHA standards as specified by State and Company standards.
  • Relay provider orders to patients, prepare and clean ultrasound machines, and draw up injections for administration.
  • Verify radiological and laboratory records are received and in the patient chart, and take necessary steps to obtain records if not present.
  • Fits patients for durable medical equipment (DME) and completes applicable paperwork, obtains prior-authorizations for radiology and/or prescriptions as needed, and maintains stock of medicines and supplies.
  • Advises Office Manager when replacements are needed, sterilizes and cleans instruments used in examinations and/or procedures, and maintains a clean and hygienic environment.
  • Monitors personal and provider staff task buckets in the EMR, assists with providing Workers Compensation medication under the direction of the physician, and labels specimens accurately and distributes them to the appropriate personnel to ensure specimen integrity.
  • Processes specimens and prepares them for shipping, maintains lab area with ample supplies and in a clean and safe condition, and follows test requirements of laboratory and procures unaltered urine specimen for testing.
  • Participates in and completes all required trainings and in-services, and acts as a back-up for Ancillary Medical Assistants, performing Ancillary Medical Assistant duties as directed.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of Internet and Microsoft Office software (MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Outlook).
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including exceptional customer service.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with doctors, clinical staff, other co-workers, and the public.
  • Ability to work individually as well as within a team.
  • Ability to follow both verbal and written instructions.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule.
  • Ability to respond with patience and understanding during stressful conditions related to patient health and emergent situations.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize.
  • Ability to demonstrate extreme attention to detail.
  • Ability to possess strong organization skills.
  • Ability to problem solve and use reasoning.
  • Ability to meet predefined quality standards.
  • Ability to maintain and project a professional attitude and appearance at all times.
  • Working knowledge of the healthcare field and medical specialty, as well as medical terminology.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Completion of a Nurse Aide, Medical Assistant, or EMS training program, with a current Nurse Aide certification OR a Medical Assistant certification OR EMS Licensure.
  • One (1) year of prior experience working in a medical practice.
  • One (1) year of prior experience working with an Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

  • Pay Range: $17.00/Hr - $19.00/Hr.
