Job Title: Class A CDL Driver

At H&E Equipment Services, we are seeking a highly skilled Class A CDL Driver to join our team. As a Class A CDL Driver, you will be responsible for safely transporting heavy equipment to customer job sites, ensuring timely delivery and excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Route Planning & Load Management: Strategically plan delivery routes, considering load weight, dimensions, road conditions, and construction factors.
  • Documentation & Compliance: Verify and maintain accurate bill of lading (BOL) and shipping documentation for each delivery.
  • Vehicle Inspection: Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of tractor, trailer, and securements.
  • Weight Distribution: Properly distribute weight based on trailer size and axle count to ensure safe and compliant transport.
  • Safety & Reporting: Adhere to safety protocols, including ensuring load heights meet interstate bridge clearances and flagging and placarding vehicles appropriately.
Requirements:
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Age & Experience: Minimum age of 21 with at least one year of combination tractor-trailer flatbed experience.
  • Certifications: Valid Class A CDL from resident state and DOT medical certificate required.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with FMCSA Hours of Service regulations and ability to operate an ELD.
  • Driving Record: Clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) and Commercial Driver's License Information System (CDLIS) showing no disqualifying traffic convictions as defined by FMCSA.
