Job Title: Family Teacher

Tennessee Family Solutions is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Family Teacher to join our team. As a Family Teacher, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Responsibilities:
  • Implementing the Teaching Family Model: Ensure the proper operation of the home by implementing the Teaching Family Model of care for adults with developmental disabilities and other diagnoses.
  • Staffing and Training: Staff and train employees to ensure the home is properly staffed with trained employees.
  • Maintenance and Reporting: Utilize TFS Maintenance systems to report issues timely to maintain the internal and external home structure.
  • Coordinating Care: Coordinate all care and activities individually for each person supported, including medical appointments, therapy appointments, family visits, community activities, and annual appointments.
  • Financial Management: Manage the home budget as well as the budgets for each individual.
  • Communication and Meetings: Attend all required meetings, including Focus and Hub meetings, and communicate effectively with others.
  • Confidentiality and Documentation: Maintain confidentiality in all things related to individuals supported and staff, and document services as required.
  • Staff Supervision and Training: Supervise and train staff to ensure proper operation of the Teaching Family Home.
  • Compliance and Professionalism: Maintain compliance with various federal and state regulations, TFS' adaptation of the Teaching-Family Model, and various TFS policies and procedures, and exhibit a professional attitude, demeanor, and interpersonal skills at all times.
  • Additional Responsibilities: Perform unannounced visits to homes, maintain consistent communication with conservators, and respond to emails in a timely manner.

Requirements: Previous experience working with adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities is required. A professional attitude, demeanor, and interpersonal skills are essential for this role.
