Welder Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Welder to join our team at Steele Solutions. As a key member of our fabrication team, you will be responsible for welding components and assembling structural forms according to blueprints.

• Analyze engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications to plan layout, assembly, and welding operations.
• Lay out, position, and secure parts and assemblies prior to assembly using precision tools.
• Select and use proper tooling and fixturing for the job, planning the sequence of steps to perform duties.
• Interpret weld symbols and assemble metal parts or products.
• Prepare all material surfaces to be welded, ensuring they are free from loose or thick scale, slag, rust, moisture, grease, or other foreign matter.
• Operate various welding, soldering, or brazing equipment, as well as hoists, cranes, riggings, dollies, and trucks to move equipment.
• Clean work pieces or finished products and mark or tag material with proper job numbers, piece marks, and other identifying marks as required.
• Use precision measuring equipment to check work and examine/measures work pieces for defects.
• Correctly fill out all paperwork associated with the job and complete tasks to specifications and in a timely manner.
• Comply with all safety and sanitation regulations and perform other manufacturing duties as assigned.

• High school diploma or equivalent required; or demonstrated extensive welding experience.
• Welding certification desired.
• 2+ years of related experience with.045 wire welding recommended.

• Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of manufacturing processes.
• Previous OSHA safety training and strong safety aptitude.
• Strong interpersonal and teambuilding skills, with the ability to work well with individuals from diverse backgrounds and experiences.
• Ability to read, understand, and interpret manufacturing documents, including blueprints.
• Working knowledge of Continuous Improvement practices and procedures, preferably Lean Manufacturing and 6S.
