Key Responsibilities

**Eligible for a $10,000 Sign-On Bonus and $10,000 Education Assistance**

As a Polysomnography Technician, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of sleep for our patients. Your responsibilities will include providing direct patient care while expertly operating advanced medical equipment to monitor sleep patterns, respiratory functions, cardiac activity, and other clinical indicators.

Your duties will include:
  • Assessing and evaluating the appropriateness and effectiveness of diagnostic testing based on patients' age, cognitive and physical capabilities, and developmental needs. Communicating relevant patient information to the physician.
  • Initiating and overseeing overnight testing procedures in compliance with the standards set by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine.
  • Maintaining a professional demeanor when interacting with patients, visitors, and healthcare staff. Upholding strict confidentiality regarding medical and employee information.
  • Assisting the department coordinator with quality assurance initiatives and providing recommendations as necessary.
  • Adhering to the organization's safety protocols and responding appropriately to emergency situations. Ensuring that all equipment is ready for safe operation.
  • Performing duties in accordance with the requirements of all regulatory and governing bodies.
  • Taking responsibility for personal and professional development through participation in departmental meetings, training programs, and continuing education. Meeting annual education requirements as outlined by policy.
Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

One of the following:
  • Licensed Respiratory Care Practitioner in the State of Nebraska
  • Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) certification
  • Sleep Disorder Specialist (SDS) certification
Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) certification must be obtained within six months of hire.

AHA BLS or BLS instructor certification is required upon hire.

SDS certification is preferred.
