Position Overview
As a vital member of our healthcare team, you will provide clinical leadership for comprehensive patient care in an acute inpatient environment, emphasizing patient and family-centered approaches. You will exhibit clinical proficiency by applying evidence-based methodologies throughout the nursing process: assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation, and outcomes. Your role will include integrating safety protocols, cost management, and quality enhancement throughout your nursing responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
Assessment:
Conduct thorough data collection and nursing assessments using appropriate standards and tools tailored to specific age groups. Recognize and document changes in patient conditions and responses to interventions. Collaborate with healthcare team members to establish nursing priorities for patient care plans.
Planning and Outcomes:
Develop individualized care plans that reflect the assessed needs of patients, collaborating with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team. Adjust plans as necessary based on patient condition changes and ensure effective communication of updates.
Implementation:
Deliver direct patient care in alignment with established nursing plans. Perform designated tasks according to organizational policies and procedures within the RN scope of practice. Delegate nursing responsibilities as appropriate and monitor the quality of care provided.
Evaluation:
Continuously assess patient responses to interventions, documenting progress towards expected outcomes and modifying care plans as required. Engage in discussions with peers and healthcare team members regarding patient outcomes and quality improvement opportunities.
Patient and Family Education:
Identify and address the educational needs of patients and families, utilizing clear language and relevant examples. Implement and assess teaching plans that encourage active participation from patients and families.
Professional Accountability:
Reflect on your nursing practice against professional standards and regulations, maintaining competency through ongoing education and professional development. Ensure that documentation and communication are focused on meeting patient and family care needs.
Minimum Qualifications
Associate's Degree in Nursing is required; a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred. A minimum of one year of experience as a registered nurse is necessary. Current licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse in South Carolina is mandatory.
Work Schedule
This position may require night shifts and flexibility for weekends and holidays.
