Field Service Engineer II Role Overview

At Applied Materials, we're seeking a skilled Field Service Engineer II to join our team. As a Field Service Engineer II, you'll play a critical role in supporting our customers' semiconductor equipment, ensuring their operations run smoothly and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, maintain, and upgrade customer equipment, working closely with senior engineers to ensure seamless operations.
  • Diagnose and resolve technical problems, following established procedures and task plans.
  • Complete required job documentation, safety training, and procedures for processing parts.
  • Represent Applied Materials professionally to customers, embodying a 'customer-first' mindset.
  • Satisfy company and customer on-site requirements, adhering to safety, environmental, and COVID-19 guidelines.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • An associate degree or equivalent technical certification, combined with 2-4 years of experience in the semiconductor industry or equipment support.
  • Ability to read electrical and mechanical schematics, with clear and effective written/verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and basic mechanical aptitude.
  • Knowledge of hand tools and proper usage, including a digital multimeter.
  • A valid driver's license and ability to obtain a passport.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to support rotational shifts, including nights and weekends, based on customer needs.
  • Travel for training and alternate customer sites, with potential for international travel.
  • Ability to walk extensively, stand for extended periods, and work in tight spaces.
