Dental Assistant Instructor Job Description

Pima Medical Institute is seeking a highly qualified Dental Assistant Instructor to join our team. As a Dental Assistant Instructor, you will be responsible for teaching and mentoring students in our Dental Assistant program.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lesson Planning: Develop and implement daily lesson plans that meet the needs of our students, including scheduled activities and materials.
  • Instructional Delivery: Plan and deliver instruction to achieve specific objectives based on student needs and established curriculum.
  • Student Monitoring: Monitor student attendance and coordinate with the Associate Director when absences occur.
  • Student Success: Review student success rates and implement a plan to reduce student withdrawals.
  • Grading and Evaluation: Maintain student grades in accordance with established policies and prepare final grades at the end of each module.
  • Student Support: Evaluate student performance and make necessary provisions to meet learning needs.
  • Program Coordination: Arrange and coordinate guest speakers, community service field trips, and visits to clinics and dental offices.
  • Curriculum Development: Prepare lectures and practical demonstrations for students in class and individually.
  • Student Advising: Assist and advise students with the Dental Assistant program curriculum.
  • Supply Management: May assist with the inventory and ordering of supplies and equipment.
  • Lab Monitoring: Monitor students in the laboratory and ensure safety precautions are adhered to.
Requirements:
  • Education: Graduation from an accredited Dental Assistant program recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) or a graduate of an otherwise recognized training entity.
  • Experience: A minimum of four (4) years of job-related training and experience for those instructors who are not graduates from an accredited Dental Assistant program.
  • Certifications: Certified or Registered Dental Assistant (CDA or RDA) or a licensed dentist.
  • Skills: Proficient in didactic and clinical four-handed and/or six-handed dentistry principles, verbal and written communication skills, and knowledge of Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and computer skills.
Compensation:

$31.50 to $40.95 per hour
