Role Overview:
The Semi-Trailer Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing service tasks, diagnostic troubleshooting, and state inspections for semi-trailers and yard trucks. This role may also involve road service calls and body repair work as necessary. The duties outlined below are essential to the position but may not encompass all responsibilities assigned.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct preventative maintenance and federal inspections on both dry and refrigerated semi-trailers.
  • Execute all necessary mechanical repairs, both light and heavy-duty, including brake and wheel seal replacements on air disc or drum systems.
  • Inspect semi-trailers to ensure compliance with DOT regulations and perform repairs to guarantee safe operation.
  • Diagnose and repair electrical issues, including lighting and ABS problems on semi-trailers.
  • Carry out body repairs, including work on body panels, side and top rails, roofs, and flooring, as well as rear door repairs (roll-up or swing).
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures while performing assigned tasks.
  • Weld as required, utilizing both gas and electric methods.
  • Utilize hand tools, electric drills, and air tools effectively.
  • Maintain a safe working environment by complying with all company, local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Complete necessary paperwork and input data into the maintenance management system.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement by enhancing products, services, and processes to minimize waste and maximize efficiency.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DOT medical card.
  • CDL License preferred or the capability to acquire one within a specified timeframe.
  • Physical capability to climb, push/pull, bend, stoop, and kneel for extended periods, as well as frequent reaching and finger usage.
  • Proficiency in welding techniques.
  • Computer literacy is essential.
  • Possession of personal hand tools is required.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
