Clinical Psychologist

NYC Health + Hospitals is seeking a Clinical Psychologist to join our team as a Plant-Based Nutrition Specialist. As a key member of our interdisciplinary lifestyle medicine program, you will work closely with medical providers, registered dietitians, and health coaches to provide psychological support to patients with chronic cardiometabolic conditions.
Job Summary:- Provide psychological evaluation and support to patients engaging in intensive therapeutic lifestyle change.
- Address psychopathology, body image, self-esteem, social support, and quality of life.
- Evaluate and provide therapy for conditions such as anxiety, depression, PTSD, and disordered eating.
- Develop safe and therapeutic environments for patients with obesity and other chronic health conditions.
- Utilize motivational interviewing techniques to support lifestyle change.
- Participate in development of treatment plans in coordination with medical providers and other team members.
- Develop differential diagnoses for patients and ensure proper referral to MD for medication evaluations as needed.
- Coordinate with psychiatrist when needed in managing patient's overall care.
- Participate and lead various group meetings, including emotional eating, mindfulness, stress reduction, body image, and support groups.
- Provide documentation of clinical services as per departmental guidelines.
- A Doctoral degree in Psychology from an APA-accredited program or an accredited program recognized by the Department of Education of the State of New York.
- Valid license as a Psychologist issued by the New York State Department of Education.
- 2+ years' experience in clinical practice preferred.
